The rush to gather in person for worship begins!

Hold up, a second!

Is worship all we do?

The Unitarian Universalist Association is our “parent” body - Beacon is a member - has many professional organizations. As Executive Director and lead for the Lifespan Ministry Team, I (Tuli) am fortunate to be a member of many professional organizations: the AUUA for Administrators, LREDA for religious educators, Our Wholes Lives Facilitators, UU Religious Professionals of Color, and so on. I eagerly read the associated list servs and Facebook postings for each of the groups, not only because I continually learn something but also because I am reminded of how fortunate we are at Beacon.

A recent posting lamented the rush back to gathering for worship once again, without having consulted all impacted ministries. There was little thought as to what children and youth programming might be available, what would happen to social hour or how many attendees permitted. I am grateful that at Beacon we do not make decisions in silos but consult one another and have full faith in the “wisdom of crowds.”

This Sunday is the first of our two town halls before our special meeting on May 23rd. Please know that your children may join our programming on Sunday at 11:00 am so that you may attend the meeting.

This Sunday, we welcome back Rev. Dr. Robin Tanner. In keeping with the theme for the month, we hope her time of sabbatical has been healing and restful.

With faith and love,

Tuli and Rev. Emilie (with the soon to return Rev. Dr. Robin).
